Yoga Flexibility Poses and Their Benefits





Yoga can be a great way improve flexibility, especially in your hips, back and thighs. This pose increases blood flow to the lower abdomen, reduces stress, and can also improve blood flow throughout the body. Start by lying down on your back, extending your legs in front of your body. Your arms should be under your shoulders. Now, fold your hips inwardly. You can hold this position for as long as two minutes. Continue to do this until you feel comfortable.

This will open your hips and hamstrings. If you have a strong back, you can use the strap around your instep to help you reach the full height of the stretch. You can substitute a belt for a strap if it is not available.
